Terms of Usage

These Terms of Usage ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website ubf.fi and all related pages, the business directory, the membership application form, and the company and administrator account areas (together, the "Portal"), operated by Suomen ukrainalaisten yrittäjien yhdistys ry (Business ID / Y-tunnus 3622781-3), a non-profit association registered in Finland, trading as Ukrainian Business in Finland (UBF) ("UBF", "we", "us", "our").

By browsing the Portal, submitting a membership application, or logging into a Company or Superadmin account, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Portal.

1. Who this applies to

The Portal has three types of users:

Visitors — anyone browsing the public site and the business directory.

Company accounts — a representative of a member company who has been issued login credentials to manage that company's profile.

Association staff (Superadmin) — UBF staff or volunteers who manage companies, membership applications, blog content, users, and site settings.

2. The service we provide

The Portal is a public marketing and information site for UBF and a searchable directory of Ukrainian-owned or Ukrainian-connected businesses operating in Finland. Businesses join UBF and appear in the directory by submitting an application through the Portal; UBF reviews each application and, if approved, creates a company listing and a login for the company's designated contact person.

3. Eligibility and account responsibilities

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when submitting a membership application or updating a company profile.

Company account credentials are personal to the designated contact person and must not be shared. You are responsible for all activity under your account and must notify us promptly at info@ubf.fi if you suspect unauthorized access.

UBF may decline, suspend, or terminate an account or a company listing at its discretion — for example if information provided is false or misleading, if membership conditions set out in UBF's articles of association are not met, or if these Terms are breached.

4. Acceptable use

When using the Portal you agree not to:

upload or submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, misleading, or that impersonates another business or person;

attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, data, or system underlying the Portal, or interfere with its normal operation (including large-scale scraping of the directory, attempting to bypass authentication, or probing for vulnerabilities without authorization);

use the directory or any contact details obtained through the Portal to send unsolicited bulk marketing (spam) to listed companies;

upload images or files you do not have the rights to use, or that exceed the technical limits set out in the Portal's forms.

5. Company listings and content

By submitting a company profile, description, logo, photos, or other content, you confirm that you own the rights to that content or are authorized to submit it on the company's behalf, and you grant UBF a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the Portal and in related UBF materials for as long as the listing is active.

You are responsible for keeping your company's listed information accurate and up to date.

UBF reserves the right to review, edit, reject, or remove any listing or content that does not comply with these Terms or that UBF reasonably believes is inaccurate, unlawful, or damaging to UBF's reputation.

6. Membership applications

Submitting an application via the /apply form does not guarantee membership or a directory listing. UBF reviews applications at its discretion. If an application is approved, UBF will create the company profile and issue login credentials to the contact person named in the application; an initial password will be communicated directly to that person.

7. Intellectual property

The Portal's design, branding, logo, and underlying software are the property of UBF or its licensors and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of that material to you. Company logos, names, and content remain the property of the respective member companies.

8. Third-party links and content

The Portal may contain links to third-party websites (for example, member companies' own websites or social media pages) and may display third-party advertising. UBF does not control and is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site.

9. Availability and changes to the Portal

UBF aims to keep the Portal available and accurate but does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We may update, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Portal, and may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above; continued use of the Portal after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The Portal and the information it contains (including directory listings) are provided "as is" and "as available." UBF does not warrant the accuracy or completeness of any company listing, as that information is supplied by the listed companies themselves. UBF is not a party to, and accepts no responsibility for, any transaction or dealing between a Portal visitor and a listed company. To the fullest extent permitted by Finnish law, UBF is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Portal.

11. Termination

UBF may suspend or terminate your access to the Portal, a company account, or a directory listing at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that UBF believes violates these Terms or is otherwise harmful to UBF, other users, or third parties.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Portal will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Finland, unless mandatory consumer-protection law provides otherwise.
